KC Autos in Northwich faced ongoing issues with water leaks and dust accumulation due to their aging asbestos roof. They needed a solution that not only addressed these problems but also minimized disruption to their busy operations. Weatherproofing Advisors stepped in with a thoughtful approach, combining cutting-edge survey techniques and a practical, long-term solution.
The project included upgrading the roof with a modern overlay system and adding internal liners to improve aesthetics and reduce dust. A new single-ply membrane was installed on the office roof, and the gutters were relined to ensure a watertight seal. KC Autos reached out to Weatherproofing Advisors to address persistent water ingress issues at their site with an emphasis on the need for the work to be completed with minimal disruption to their ongoing internal operations whilst offering a solution to help reduce dust internally, the spray booth roof area consisted of an aged asbestos cement profiled sheet system, there was also water ingress issues to the office area and guttering to the rear roof area.
Due to the fragility of the roof areas Weatherproofing Advisors survey team carried out a full site condition survey by trained commercial drone operators to provide a report and a long-term solution for the site.
We proposed a built-up overlay system complemented by internal liners to enclose the underside of the old asbestos sheeting to enhance the internal aesthetics and to also encapsulate the area above the spray booths which was a problematic area for collecting dust.
Additionally, we installed a single-ply membrane roof system to the office areas and applied new linings to the three main gutters on site, effectively resolving the water ingress concerns while maintaining the functionality of KC Autos’ daily activities.
