JLL Peacehaven recently underwent a full roofing and cladding refurbishment, delivered by Weatherproofing Advisors in partnership with JLL. The existing asbestos roofing and cladding were in poor condition, leading to significant water ingress that was disrupting daily operations. Despite the scale of the site, the client, Screen Solutions, needed the facility to stay fully operational throughout the works.
To make this possible, the project was carefully phased. The team installed a new profiled metal build-up roofing system in Goosewing Grey and replaced the old rooflights with Hambleside triple skin units. Gutter systems were upgraded with Unifold liners and Trimline eaves gutters, and all work was coordinated around the client’s operations to keep disruption to a minimum. The project also included full refurbishment of the vertical cladding, windows, and doors, finished with an Anthracite coating.
The work began with perimeter scaffolding and safety netting installed by WPA’s own Scaffolding Division. With strong project management and close coordination, the team delivered a high-quality result backed by a 25-year guarantee, leaving the facility in significantly better condition and future-ready.
Weatherproofing Advisors were successfully appointed to refurbish Screen Solutions property at Peacehaven.
Working in partnership with JLL, our team carried out a detailed condition survey covering 2,500m² of vertical cladding. The aging structure had led to significant water ingress, which was disrupting the tenants’ daily operations.
Ensuring that the client’s operations remained fully functional throughout the refurbishment was pivotal to this project. This presented a challenge due to the site’s scale and layout, requiring good planning and coordination to ensure we did not impact the client, whilst still delivering the project safely and on time.
The project scope included overlaying the existing roof, including new valley gutters and perimeter gutters. The existing downpipes were also replaced with new powder coated aluminium fabricated pipes. This complex work demanded exceptional communication and project management. The Weatherproofing Advisors project team ensured that the client was kept informed throughout the project.
The project began with WPA’s Scaffolding Division installing full perimeter scaffolding, complete with boarded platforms to ensure safe roof access and integrated safety netting.
Refurbishment works were delivered in three phases.
Phase 1 overlayed the existing roof with Joriside 32/1000 HPS200 profiled sheets, with 240mm of insulation, along with Hambleside roof lights. We also installed new Unifold gutter liners, ensuring watertightness without removing the existing gutter.
Phase 2 was then an overclad of the existing vertical cladding with Joriside JI 32-167-1000 wall sheets, along with new trim line gutter and down pipes. Phase 3 renovated windows, doors and roller doors, which were coated in Anthracite.
The full scope of works provided a durable solution, supported by a 25-year guarantee.
