Weatherproofing Advisors were brought in to refurbish the roof, cladding and entrance canopy of a Tesco-owned retail unit in Bury. The building’s roof and cladding had reached the end of their serviceable life, with visible wear and deterioration causing performance issues and leaving the site looking tired. The team installed a new metal-sheeted overlay roofing system to restore watertightness and long-term durability, while also carrying out a full clean and refurbishment of the wall cladding across all elevations.
As part of the project, WPA fitted a fully integrated man-safe system with designated walkways, giving the client safe and compliant access for future maintenance. The front-facing canopy, which had been weathered and was flaking, was also redecorated, transforming the main entrance and refreshing the appearance of the site. Careful planning and phased delivery meant the retail unit could continue operating throughout the works with minimal disruption.
What began as a straightforward roof overlay grew into a much wider package after the client saw the quality of work and professionalism on site. Additional instructions included full cleaning of the external elevations and redecoration of the atrium, reflecting the trust built during the project. The end result is a retail unit that looks renewed, is fully watertight and now safeguarded with low-maintenance upkeep.
