Weatherproofing Advisors were brought in to refurbish the roof, cladding and entrance canopy of a Tesco-owned retail unit in Bury. The building’s roof and cladding had reached the end of their serviceable life, with visible wear and deterioration causing performance issues and leaving the site looking tired. The team installed a new metal-sheeted overlay roofing system to restore watertightness and long-term durability, while also carrying out a full clean and refurbishment of the wall cladding across all elevations.
As part of the project, WPA fitted a fully integrated man-safe system with designated walkways, giving the client safe and compliant access for future maintenance. The front-facing canopy, which had been weathered and was flaking, was also redecorated, transforming the main entrance and refreshing the appearance of the site. Careful planning and phased delivery meant the retail unit could continue operating throughout the works with minimal disruption.
What began as a straightforward roof overlay grew into a much wider package after the client saw the quality of work and professionalism on site. Additional instructions included full cleaning of the external elevations and redecoration of the atrium, reflecting the trust built during the project. The end result is a retail unit that looks renewed, is fully watertight and now safeguarded with low-maintenance upkeep.
Weatherproofing Advisors were successfully appointed to refurbish the roof, cladding and front-facing canopy of a Tesco owned retail unit.
The existing roof and cladding at the Bury location had reached the end of their serviceable life and were no longer providing acceptable protection. To address this, WPA installed a new metal-sheeted overlay system, designed for long-term durability and performance. The solution restored the roof’s integrity, extended its service life and ensured watertightness.
In addition to the roofing works, the wall cladding to all elevations was identified as weathered and in need of refurbishment. WPA carried out a full clean and refurbishment, refreshing the building’s appearance and safeguarding cladding against further deterioration.
As part of the package, a fully integrated man-safe system with designated walkways was installed onto the roof. These measures provide safe, practical access for future maintenance while ensuring full compliance with current safety standards. The works delivered a building that is refreshed in appearance and secured for long-term, low-risk upkeep.
The scope of works was originally limited to overlaying the existing roof sheeting, which formed the basis of the client’s initial agreement.
As the works progressed, the consistently high standards, professionalism and positive conduct demonstrated by Weatherproofing Advisors Ltd gave the client confidence in our capabilities. Impressed by the quality of delivery, the client issued further instructions and awarded additional orders that expanded the scope beyond the first planned requirements.
The extended works included comprehensive cleaning of all external elevations of the building, along with the complete redecoration of the atrium at the main entrance. This expansion reflected the trust the client placed in Weatherproofing Advisors Ltd to deliver results that went beyond the client’s beginning expectations.
