Maintenance Requirements
To maintain almost any roofing or cladding warranty, there are certain basic maintenance requirements from the Manufacturer and Contractor which must be initiated annually to conform to the terms and conditions of the guarantees.
Over the last twenty years the Commercial and Industrial markets have demanded longer term guarantees for new roof installations. To maintain this cover, it is often mandatory that a detailed inspection and maintenance regime is initiated to conform to often complicated terms of the Guarantee. Failure to follow this regime can render the guarantee invalid and expose the building owner to potentially unnecessary expense with respect to repairs and, ultimately, roof replacement.
What does the HSE say?
It is an employer’s duty to protect the health, safety and welfare of their employees and other people who might be affected by their business. Employers must do whatever is reasonably practicable to achieve this. This means making sure that workers and others are protected from anything that may cause harm, effectively controlling any risks to injury or health that could arise in the workplace.
How Can we help?
WPA personally review the generic and site-specific Terms and Conditions set by the Manufacturer and provide an ‘Aftercare’ proposal.
What do i get?
Our ‘Aftercare’ proposal consists of a set number of maintenance visits by our own fully employed and qualified operatives, who will carry out a tailored maintenance regime designed to capture all aspects of the manufacturer’s T&C’s, whilst ensuring to inspect our own or others workmanship, to proactively alleviate any associated issues or expense.
During our final maintenance visit, our operatives will be accompanied by one of our surveyors who will carry out a much more detailed survey. This allows us the opportunity to thoroughly examine our workmanship to ensure that all details remain intact and that if repeated will ensure that the roofing system will last the length of the guarantee, if not longer.
Once completed, all information is uploaded to our client specific portal, whilst an affirmation letter is sent to the manufacturer confirming you have met the terms of your guarantee.
