Weatherproofing Advisors (WPA) were successfully appointed out to carry out the roof refurbishment works (app. 2300m2) for Teledyne Gas Measurement Instruments Ltd.
The main warehouse and office roofs had been experiencing water ingress issues which were causing disruption to daily operations.
The Client required a solution which had minimal impact on internal operations and could provide a long-term solution for the building. The works involved encapsulation of the existing asbestos cement roof with a new plastisol coated steel profiled sheet and GRP rooflights.
The existing metal gutters were lined with a high-performance liquid coating system. A new galvanised steel access ladder and permanent edge guard handrail system was installed to provide safe access for ongoing maintenance requirements.
A new high performance bituminous felt system was specified to the office roof areas. Following a site inspection survey, several localised areas were identified as being problematic and these areas were cut out and replaced with new insulation. The remainder of the roof areas were overlaid with WPA working in close connection with the clients M&E representatives.
The client is extremely happy with the completed works which were carried out during a challenging time of year. The works involved regular interface with Client representatives and ensuring that the building remained watertight throughout the refurbishment period.
