It’s not every day that you get to stand where the great – yet fictional – Hercule Poirot has stood!
We were delighted to work on Florin Court in London, a fantastic art deco building that was always used as Poirots fictional home in London.
Our brief was to assess the roof coverings and current condition of the roof and propose a solution that would provide a homogenous surface to provide a minimum of a 15 year warranty for the client.
It is said that after the war Poirot became a private detective and began undertaking civilian cases. He moved into what became both his home and work address, Flat 203 at 56B Whitehaven Mansions. In reality, Whitehaven Mansions is set at Florin Court.
(The Florin Court building was actually built in 1936, decades after Poirot fictionally moved in.)
